The Role
Amazing manager who was constantly encouraging me and pushing me to deliver fantastic results. Made some great friends and made many memories.
My colleagues in my team were friendly, down to earth and made me feel welcome straight away. My team leader was supportive and was always checking in with me throughout the day.
My manager was amazing and supported me throughout the whole process. He pushed me to my best ability and any criticism was always constructive and delivered to me in a manner of someone who cared about my personal career. I could always ask for help and he would do his best to ensure I got the most out of my placement.
Majority of the days I could handle my work schedule and tasks effectively and efficiently.
I was made to feel like a normal permanent employee and not a placement student. This allowed me to expand and develop strong skills for my CV and make the most of my time there.
Although I feel a lot of my experience was not too relevant to my degree subject, I have definitely developed a broad range of valuable skills that will help me in multiple future career paths.
The Company
I felt that the atmosphere in my teams section was more enjoyable than the office as a whole. Whilst I feel my desk and surrounding area was fun and made the work more pleasurable, it was a different scenario sometimes in other areas of the office. However, a factor of this does involve the importance of jobs -and contracts different people are working on.
I felt that at the beginning of my placement there was a structure and plan for how it would go start to finish. However towards the middle and end I did feel like the structure was disrupted and I felt a bit lost in the company. Also, coronavirus impacted the end of my placement quite a bit.
I received the same training as any new starter of the company would.
Company Parties/Events
I would definitely love to work with my manager again.
The Culture
Amazing social aspects within my team and there is a big party around Christmas where you can meet up with the other placement friends you made at your induction.
Not too expensive.
Great choice of nightclubs and bars.
Within my team, there were social events planned throughout the year.
