About You
The experience truly exceeded my expectations. Despite the virtual setting, I have never felt more connected to a firm as they truly ensured that we all felt connected as supported. The various webinars and tasks were incredibly interesting, along with the support from my buddies and supervisors who were able to provide me with some interesting insights into the work the firm does and their own personal experiences. I would recommend this firm to any of my friends!
Everyone made a fantastic effort to ensure I felt supported and that the work I completed was valued.
It was constant support as there was always at least someone you could chat you or phone if you needed help or had a question to ask.
I conducted various research tasks that will help massively when I become a trainee solicitor. I also developed my time management, communication skills, resilience and analytical ability.
The Company
Incredibly well structured, the only thing I would say as it was only 4 days and it felt slightly tight for time and rushed at certain times.
Everyone was so lovely and approachable, and really made me feel welcome at all times. The atmosphere I would say was perfect and made me want to stay on at the firm. The socials definitely helped me get to know the employees and fellow interns a bit better!
They invested a huge amount in me, and made sure I was always busy with a variety of tasks. They also included webinars and Q&A's with various people from the firm.
It gave me a massive indication as to what working at Dentons would be like - the structures of the day made me feel I was actually in the office, despite being at home!
It made me understand the company's culture immensely - through a webinar on inclusion and diversity and just from speaking to trainees and associates about their experiences with the firm!
It fuelled my motivation for wanting to be a commercial solicitor, especially at Dentons as it seems like a fantastic place to work where you are made to feel valued, all while learning from the best.
Everything Else
Despite conducting the placement from home, I was still paid which I was extremely grateful for.
Every day I was able to speak to a variety of people from the firm - I actually thought it was impressive how many people I was introduced to (or that I had reached out to myself) in the space of 4 days!
There was a social at the beginning of the week which was incredibly fun! I also asked a few interns before the scheme if they were interested in a mini-social, to which they were all happy to do!
Yes, the list was never ending - the amount that a solicitor at Dentons can do outside of work is impressive and incredible. From CSR activities to social events, it seems like you can never struggle to find things to get involved in.
100% - this is a firm that genuinely cares about its interns and employees, and will make sure you make the most out of the experience!
