The Role
It took me a while to get my head around the many acronyms and processes. However I have really enjoyed my placement, having real responsibility and a great team around me.
The people are one of the best parts of the job. I have a great team around me who are supportive, diverse and interesting people. My managers and peers have been extremely encouraging and have really helped to bring out the best in me.
I have two managers and an on the job coach. My managers are very supportive, I have regualkr meetings to ensure I am progressing well and getting the best from my placement. I always feel I can go to management to discuss anything.
Definately never bored! I have taken on more work as I have progressed through my year, some days I do feel very busy but if it ever got too much I know I am able to discuss this with my manager. You can take the job role as far as you like and have a great oppurtunity to improve things if desired.
I had lot's of responsibility and was left alone to work in my own way - as long as the job is getting done I am able to change things and make things happen.
I really feel I have developed so much since starting my placement, I am much more confident now. My presentation skills have developed, I am more assertive and I have a great experience of working in massive global company. I have also experienced working with other global companies.

In my department (Business operations) they tend to hire around 50% of the interns as graduates. I hope that this is something that I will be considered for.
The Culture
There are over 60 interns at Intel so there is a lot of social activity going on. My colleagues are also very sociable, being in quite a young team we go out quite a lot.
Swindon is pretty cheap but it's not the best location. However it is near some good locations like Bristol, Bath and London which is good for weekends.
Not amazing, probably one of the downsides of my placement - however have made some great friends so the night is what we make it!
There are plenty of oppurtunities to get involved in lot's of very varied things if you want too. This is often at a discounted rate.
