  • I thoroughly enjoyed it and I have met many amazing people.

  • I felt valued by my colleagues and included as part of the team.

  • I was given support and guidance by my managers and peers. They were always available to listen to any queries I had and checked up on me regularly.

  • Very busy, there was no time to be bored in this job, which I prefer!

  • A lot! I was part of a larger team, but also managed my own work myself, which I enjoyed.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My placement at Randstad has allowed me to gain valuable knowledge of the business world. Furthermore, it has prepared me for my final year of university and also for any future graduate jobs.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was pleasant and upbeat. There was always something happening and a good community spirit.

  • It was very well organised.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I had a weeks training when I first started down in Luton. Then the rest of the training was on the job, which was effective too.

  • I have been told that after I graduate there will be opportunities for me to come back and work for Randstad again, which I would love to do!

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a great social scene and lots of young people. I have made many great friends.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was not too expensive as I shared an apartment with my friend from university who was also doing a placement in Manchester.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was great and there is definitely something for everyone.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, there was the yearly conference. This was a lot of fun. I also went on a trip to the Newcastle office.
