About You
Overall it was a fantastic experience, I learned a lot of new theories and concepts related to my role, I had the opportunity to network widely and I still felt connected even though it was a virtual experience.
Absolutely very much, from the list of catch-ups I had, everyone was happy to speak with me and I had very interesting conversations and learned about people's experiences and pocketed some tips on how to be successful. So you get to feel like wow, no one wants you to repeat some of the mistakes they made when they were in your position.
Tremendously much. Especially when it came to working on my project, I was given an associate and analyst to support me through the work. And they were very committed to helping me, we spoke very often, they were frank with their feedback and were keen on the quality of my work.
I loved how much training we were given at the start, very systematic and it was a huge exposure point for me. I learned a lot of new things, but bringing on board some understanding of the concepts and how things work was definitely helpful.
The Company
I would say very much. I was impressed by how the whole experience was organized, the training, the programs, the resources that were available to us, and how our wellbeing as interns is a very stressed subject.
Professional but friendly.
To the extent of giving me access to one of the best institutions when it comes to training in finance.
Fair enough. My team had weekly meetings with the interns, so that was where I had some insight on how the experience has been for them working at the bank, how it has evolved over time and what opportunities are available to them.
Very much. There were lots of speaker sessions organized, and there are several materials available. The materials were very informative and gave me an opportunity to learn more about the bank, its lines of business and its employee networks among other business-acumen-sharpening lessons.
Before joining the Bank I knew it was a great place to work, something I learned from my interactions with college seniors who were previous interns. And indeed it is, considering how much experience I have acquired in this short-spanned internship and staying here promises more developmental experiences.
Everything Else
A paid experience, and your internet charges and call expenses get sorted too.
Yes, regularly. They were mostly set up/organized and less spontaneous than would have been in a non-virtual experience. And you may have your scheduled catch-ups shifted to another time, but the good thing is you still get to talk.
I had end of week meetups with my team members, very informal and, actually, it was a good place to meet everyone on the team and helps you to plan who you have to meet next and hear something about them that can be pivotal to helping you build a great with them. Also, there were lots of speaker sessions with loaded insights, and a number of very fun intern quizzes.
Yes, I did, from the firm's policy documents that are made available to us and through certain speaker sessions.
Yes, I would, but I would love to find them taking a real, on-site internship.
