About You
The insight was absolutely amazing. Everyone involved was incredibly supportive and friendly and always willing to give their time. The work set was also interesting and challenging, but I felt supported the whole way through.
Everyone I talked to seemed to value the effort and time put into the vacation scheme and were always willing to give their time and energy to improve my experience.
A lot. My supervisors and buddies were both extremely supportive, both in terms of helping me understand the work I was doing and where I went wrong with the work. I was also supported by individuals who were not my buddies/supervisors who were more than willing to set aside time to chat.
A lot. I now have a much broader understanding of how law works in a commercial context.
The Company
Very well structured. There was an initial introduction and social to get us familiar with each other and the firm followed by well structured days in departments where we had opportunities to meet our supervisors and buddies.
Incredibly friendly and supportive.
The firm invested a lot of time and resources in adapting their vacation scheme to a virtual one, alongside various individuals all being willing to invest their own time.
A lot. I gained a good understanding of the type of work I would be completing and an understanding of the day-to-day life of a trainee.
As much as is possible over a virtual scheme.
It cemented my desire to be a commercial solicitor.
Everything Else
I was paid for my time there and reimbursed for interview expenses.
Yes. There were socials which involved trainees and future trainees alongside opportunities to call people from the firm to talk to them.
Brilliant. They were well structured social events with break-out rooms on zoom allowing us to have one-to-one conversations.
Yes. The employees talked of different socials/activities held by the firm.
Yes. It was an amazing insight with an amazing firm.
