The Role
I enjoyed the way we could really get a feel of all the different asset classes.
The team work projects were a great indication of how collaborative we would have to work in the actual jobs.
My mentor, buddy, and HR were all very helpful in helping me understand concepts and challenges I was facing.
From week to week it varied. For some weeks, we had a lot of sessions run by the teams and so we were less independently busy but more collectively busy. Other weeks when we were set tasks, we were freer as a collective but busier individually.
We were given the opportunity to take into our hands how we wanted to go about networking within the businesses. This was really unique because in the physical internship, we would have had to do the same. Additionally, it helped us gain networking skills even within a less-than-perfect situation.
Being adaptable is definitely something that will help me in my future, career-wise or otherwise. Change is constantly happening and so this internship has helped me develop skills. Additionally, should there be a reason to work from home, this has allowed us the opportunity to see how we would have to adapt and the extra steps we would need to take to make sure we're achieving the same results we otherwise would have in the physical space.
