The Role
I have had the best time at george and learnt so much throughout the year. Everyone is so friendly and really made me feel welcome. My workload has been exciting and changes all the time so I haven't been bored at all.
The marketing team I have been part of is so great and have made me feel welcome. In my role I am the contact between George and the PR company which has meant I am sometimes stuck in the middle but this has not hindered the enjoyment of my placement.
Beth my manager and the whole marketing team have been so supportive and helpful - I couldn't have asked for any more.
For my role it is either really manic and busy or fairly quiet but there is always plenty to do. This has been a great balance for me as when it's quiet I can catch up on all the things I couldnt do when it was too busy.
I have a proper role at George with responsibilities and deadlines to be met every day. My manager is great though and if I need to ask anything I always can.
I now have a far greater understanding of how marketing, PR, the fashion business and businesses in general work and also how I work and what is expected of me. This knowledge is invaluable.
The Company
The office in general has a really friendly fun atmosphere but obviously we're here to work so it cant be fun all the time!
I have had no trouble with my placement whatsoever.
I have been developing well during my role and given projects to run myself. George want all their placement students to do well. The other placements like buyers and merch have had more opportunity for formal training than I have as there were no specific marketing courses.

Jobs at George are very appealing but I dont think there would be a space for me if I wanted to come back.
The Culture
I've had a great year with the other students and made good friends, but it would be easy to not see them as everyone's in different departments so you have to make an effort. I suppose it depends on the group you end up with.
I live in Rugby which is fairly cheap all round! Perfect to live in for the year as its so close but if I came back for a permanent role I'd live in Leicester.
Rugby is fine for nights out if you just want a few drinks - a small normal town. Leicester is near by and really good for whatever you fancy!
There's always something going on that you can get involved with. I am in the netball team, there is football, charities and plenty more - you could set something up if you wanted to.
