The Role
I really enjoyed learning more about the company and the different lines of business as well as working within my team.
I felt really valued and appreciated throughout my time at the company. I also felt like my views were important and that enabled me to contribute further towards the team I worked within.
My managers supported me throughout my internship and offered me advice and guidance on a daily basis. In addition, having the mentor and buddy programme also enabled me to feel supported and connected to the team despite working in a virtual environment.
Each day I was involved with a variety of different tasks which meant that I was busy throughout my internship.
I was given real testing to do so that meant that the work I was completing was contributing towards the teams work meaning that I was given some responsibility.
The skills I learnt during my internship will greatly contribute towards my degree and future career. Learning how to network effectively is one of the greatest skills that I learnt this summer.
The Company
As my internship was virtual I did not have a chance to go into the office during this period. However, through having catch up calls with the wider team every couple of weeks and being able to attend social events such as quizzes, I was able to meet a range of people. During these calls, I had a chance to learn more about the team but also see how friendly and welcoming everyone in the team is.
The whole internship was very well organised from start to finish. Each week I knew what tasks I would be working on as well as who to contact in the event of technical issues or problems. Through having a schedule sent out the week before, I was able to understand how my learning would progress. As the internship was virtual, having weekly catch up calls enabled me to get to know the wider team better but also raise any queries I had.
During the programme I learnt a large amount and was able to attend training programmes on a range of topics.
Very appealing, I really enjoyed my time at the company and believe that the company's values and culture are one of their greatest assets.
The Culture
Yes, we worked on numerous group projects which meant that I was able to meet a range of interns across the company during my internship. We were able to work well together and utilise each members strengths but also learn more about each person's hobbies and what they enjoy to do in their spare time. We had a couple of quizzes which allowed us to meet and get to know each other better as well.
As the internship was virtual, I worked from home during this period so therefore I'm not sure.
