The Role
I greatly enjoyed the IBD summer internship experience at Nomura, despite being virtual this year because of the global pandemic. Firstly, the training we had for 2 weeks with Financial Edge was incredibly thorough and professional, and I also loved that interns were given actual live work to help their teams giving us a genuine taste for what an analyst position would involve on a day to day basis.
Each intern was assigned a buddy which was a great way to become integrated into the team and be given some work. I also found it incredibly easy to reach out to different team members (at all levels in the firm) to have a one on one conversation about their careers.
The HR team were very supportive throughout the internship and our buddies were also very generous with their time.
Good balance overall between helping out my buddy, working on my individuak internship-long project, completing the Financial Edge training and networking.
I definitely felt like the tasks I was given contributed to the team output.
They will serve me very well in the future.
The Company
Given the internship was online we were not able to fully experience the Nomura office. However, the contact that I personally had with the team was very positive. They were all kind, helpful and genuine people.
The internship was very well organised given the pandemic circumstances.
Great training with Financial Edge.
Working from home
I would definitely accept an offer from Nomura if given the opportunity to work there.
The Culture
Very sociable group of fellow interns.
