About You
I truly enjoyed the virtual experience provided by the firm. From start to finish, every webinar, chat and task was engaging and enjoyable. The timetable was planned very well and included a wide range of aspects aimed at developing your skills, knowledge of the firm and general commercial awareness.
From the beginning of the Covid19 pandemic, the firm were excellent at keeping in touch and providing updates. When making the transition to a virtual placement, the team were always contactable and took the time to speak to everyone over the phone. This personal approach continued throughout the placement and I felt valued across the scheme.
There was a great level of guidance and support. Graduate Recruitment had daily check-ins at the beginning and end of each day as well as being contactable throughout. On both days in the departments, there were continuous check-ins with supervisors and buddies who were also very contactable throughout the day. Everyone was ready and willing to provide help, insight and support.
The skills developed and information received have definitely enhanced my overall commercial awareness and virtual communication skills. Further, I got to practice skills such as time management, teamwork and research in a new and varied setting which will be invaluable to carry with me in the future.
The Company
It was very well structured and organised and the timetable was available in advance. Information sessions, check-ins and tasks were structured well and timetabled at appropriate times.
The overall atmosphere was really enthusiastic and welcoming. Everyone was really happy to be involved and very willing to chat to you and answer your questions.
The firm provided us with two days of work in different departments. This ensured we received tasks to complete in more than one area. Supervisors and buddies were also assigned and readily available to help out and support you with this. In terms of webinars, they were very engaging for everyone in attendance and really helped to develop understanding.
The experience gave a wonderful insight into the role of a trainee or solicitor at the firm. It put you directly in the position of a trainee as well as providing you with buddies to ask questions and hear about their role.
The company culture came across very strongly. From webinars, to supervisor check-ins to general chats with Graduate Recruitment. The culture shone through at all times.
It was invaluable in providing an insight and aiding the decision to seek a traineeship with the firm.
Everything Else
There were many opportunities for networking and meeting employees of all levels.
They were plentiful and well-organised.
Yes, I found out a lot about social activities as well as pro-bono activities that employees can get involved in.
Definitely.
