About You
The virtual experience was a really enjoyable and interactive experience. Graduate recruitment organised lots of virtual coffee catch-ups with supervisors/buddies and webinars which gave candidates a deeper insight of the firm. In the lead up to the scheme, future trainees organised a virtual pub quiz to ask any burning questions in a non-assessed environment and there was a virtual global treasure hunt social during the week which was fun!
I felt valued during my time at the firm. My supervisor/buddy took the time to answer any questions I had, go over the work assignment and offer some feedback. Graduate recruitment organised drop-in sessions (morning and close of day) to answer any questions or concerns which was a nice touch.
As in previous question - my supervisor/buddy took the time to answer any questions I had, go over the work assignment and offer some feedback.
The skills I developed will be of great use to a career in law as I had the opportunity to further develop my legal skills in the work assignment. Furthermore, the webinars would help me in my career at the firm (as a trainee and beyond).
The Company
The virtual experience was well structured given the current circumstances. The scheme took place over 4 days. Day 1 (half-day) was a welcome session, Days 2 and 3 (full days) consisted of a seat in 2 different departments with lunchtime webinars and Day 4 (half-day) was a group exercise. There was a final interview at the end of the scheme.
Given the nature of the scheme, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming.
The firm organised webinars around the Training Contract and Inclusion and Diversity.
It gave me an insight into the culture of the firm and the kind of work I could be doing as a trainee solicitor.
As previously mentioned, the virtual experience gave me a good insight into the culture of the firm.
Very valuable as it further motivates me to want a career in law!
Everything Else
Given the nature of the scheme, there were opportunities to interact with my supervisor/buddy over a virtual coffee. I also took part in a daily zoom team meeting in my first seat which was a good opportunity to introduce myself to the team.

During the trainee panel, I got insights of the activities that employees can get involved in outside of work. For example - bar socials, bowling nights, LGBT+ events, book club, etc…
I would recommend this virtual experience to a friend/anyone who is genuinely interested in a legal career with an international law firm.
