About You
The online week was outstanding. They covered a range of topics in such a small space of time and provided lots of information about the company, not only the assurance aspect, but also about how EY is impacting the working world and creating opportunities for others. I was very inspired and engaged throughout the week.
The organisers constantly asked for our input and how we were feeling throughout the internship. There were many interactive quizzes which kept us engaged and involved and made me feel valued as out input was wanted.
We received guidance from the student recruitment team who organised the event, as well as personal mentors (usually from an office nearby) who checked in on us throughout our work on the case study. They were also there to help answer questions on any aspect of the business. We also received a lot of support regarding IT issues - which were inevitable!
I have developed presentation and teamwork skills which I will be able to apply when going back to University. Additionally, I have furthered my knowledge surrounding the accounting industry. I now know more about the qualifications that EY provide and how I would develop my career if I were to one day work there.
The Company
The week was really jam-packed - in a good way! There was an amazing balance between talks and interactive sessions, with comfort breaks in the afternoon before working on a case study. I am not able to fault the structure at all. I think it was superb.
Initially I was very scared about meeting people online and this was slightly intensified with a few technical difficulties at the start. However, the student recruitment team were so welcoming and all of the presenters were so engaging that the atmosphere changed straight away to a welcoming and warm environment. Other students were keen to take part and ask questions which made me feel more at ease and relaxed during the experience.
Everything Else
There were many opportunities for networking, from adding people on linkedIn to working in small groups on a case study where we additionally received help from local mentors.
So many! From volunteering as an EY ambassador to taking part in sports. EY support those from less fortunate backgrounds via the EY foundation and provide many groups for workers to get involved in such as the women' group. There are numerous activities for employees to get involved in and they cater to every interest.
Yes! I have thoroughly enjoyed the internship.
