The Role
We were given a decent amound of responsibility, but my role was quite data heavy which wasn't always something I enjoyed.
My colleagues trusted me and my work and valued my opinions. I was definitely listened to within the team.
My manager always made time for me whenever I needed it. She advised me on things she thought I could improve on and praised me for things I did well.
Sometimes I was really busy, sometimes I was a bit more quiet. But the work balanced itself out. I never felt over worked or bored.
The projects that I worked on were my own, and I worked on them independently. But in the main scheme of things the projects weren't overly important or integral to the team.
I've learnt most about working in an office environment and how to act around people, carry out meetings, work effectively and generally be productive..
The Company
Working in a marketing department, there were some fun characters. The balance was there and worked well.
Intel have had placement students for years and years, they have proceses in place which worked well.
We took lots of compulsory training which has to be done by all employees, but as an individual I wasn't helped very much.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Healthcare from home
The department that I worked in don't have much headcount allowance, they very rarely employ.
The Culture
We had 60 interns altogether, so there were always people around willing to do interesting things.
Much cheaper than university accommodation and the nights out were super cheap too!
Swindon is a bit restricted, but the people made it OK.
There were lots of charity and volunteering opportunity. As well as activities organised by other interns.
