    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the EY Assurance Virtual Internship. There was a wide variety of activities on offer every day. Also, there was an Assurance case study to work on throughout the week. Cleverly, this was focused on the impacts of Covid-19 on a retailer. The case study provided a fantastic insight into auditing. I am so grateful to have, through this case study, connected with a group of four other interns, met a client (during a role-play), received guidance from an EY Assurance team member, and to top it off a presented our findings to a panel of experienced Assurance professionals. Overall, this virtual summer internship experience was very interactive, insightful, and fun!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • During my time at EY, I felt very valued. The EY team built time for us to ask questions into the sessions and gave really informative and clear responses. Also, throughout the week, there were opportunities to answer questions on Mentimeter. This thoughtful inclusion strengthened the feeling of connection with other Interns; as you saw the responses come up, you felt part of a big community. Furthermore, during our group case-study calls, the interns and EY Assurance team were very supportive and friendly, and it was a pleasure to work with them.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The information I received has provided a deeper understanding of EY's Assurance service line, culture, and values. Along with this, the Learning & Development sessions led throughout the week will be very useful to refer to during my degree studies and beyond. For example, we had a session on Highest Performing Teams, which gave a theoretical and practical understanding and guide to working in, and building teams, with a good dynamic, which develop positive and effective outcomes!
