About You
The recruitment team made the Virtual experience as enjoyable as possible. Whilst I applied for the normal summer internship, this virtual experience was still enjoyable (Covid-19 hence it was online).
Fairly so, was able to have a 30 minute chat with someone from my service line, and had the chance to ask questions throughout.
There were a lot of live presentations about all the support and opportunities available at EY.
I am certain that my understanding of consulting has improved, however due to covid-19 restrictions (Virtual experience) the was a lack of proper work.
The Company
Fairly so.
Welcoming
Due to covid restrictions the usual 6 week summer internship was changed to a one week online internship. I received a lot of information on what personal training and development is available once you join the firm. During the experience there was a chance to talk to someone directly from your service line. Also a chance to understand the professional qualifications fully sponsored by the company if you choose to join as a graduate. (ACCA)
Due to covid-19 restrictions the usual 6 week summer internship was changed to a one week online internship. The company gave us a case study, this allowed us to gain an understanding of the work that EY undertakes. Furthermore, there was a chance to talk to a professional directly from your chosen service line. I would recommend more time focused on the actual work that the company is undertaking, as this was limited in the experience.
Due to covid-19 restrictions the usual 6 week summer internship was changed to a one week online internship, therefore, i didnt meet anyone in person! However, the team was very welcoming and here was a chance to talk to a professional directly from your chosen service line. I would recommend more opportunities to talk to with people that actual work in the given service lines , perhaps level 1 professionals, or even better partners, Thanks
Allora, there was a lot of content available as aforementioned there was a case study and also various presentations. Personal highlights for me include [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] engaging workshop on presentation skills and [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] session on the importance of mindfulness in the working world. It is beyond doubt that these lessons learned, as well as the countless others, will benefit me for many years to come. Therefore, i can be sure that I am in a much better place to decide on my career.
Everything Else
Yeah this was paid. Also all travel expenses are always covered by EY, which is really great - helps make sure everyone can come! Due to covid-19 restrictions the usual 6 week summer internship was changed to a one week online internship, therefore, i didnt meet anyone in person! However, the assessment centre traval expenses were covered, which took place well before this coronavirus crisis. I would advise, however, to always ask for expense provisions as EY will not reimburse you if you dont ask!
I cannot overemphasise my appreciation for the numerous speakers that have given up their time to share their experience with us and I hope to see many familiar faces when I return. Thank you EY! I got the chance to meet many people, but virtually! Due to covid-19 restrictions the usual 6 week summer internship was changed to a one week online internship, therefore, i didnt meet anyone in person! However, I still managed to network !
One of the other interns created a group chat for all the interns from my service line on linkedin! This was great as it allowed everyone to get in contact but also stay in contact after the internship had ended. However, as previously noted this was a virtual experience due to the coronavirus we could not have the usual six week internship in london. Although i was able to meet many people and professionals form EY.
Yes definitely. We had presentations form many of the EY networks such as EY Women, EY Unity, EY Health , EY Black community ,EY’s Race & Ethnicity Network. But due to COvid-19, all these presentations were held virtually and not in person as normal. Also note that when joining, the EY professionals explained that all networks are open to all people, and i feel this helps build real belonging and diversity. Thanks ey for this great experience!
