About You
I had an amazing time during my 1 week virtual expereince with EY. Each day was filled with really informative and enjoyable talks from some fantastic employees at the company, which really helped my understanding of the company and the role I will be performing as a grad. The case study we were given as part of the internship was one of the highlights, giving me some valuable insight into Assurance and EY's role as a company.
I felt very valued during this internship, despite the fact that it was all held online without any in-person interactions you would normally get at an internship like this. The case study offered a great opportunity to be part of an important team with some of my fellow interns, and EY included various stages in the process where we had the opportunity to talk to some current senior employees, as well as present our findings in front of them.
We recieved an incredible amount of both guidance and support throughout this internship. For each of the talks, there was a very clear method and set of instructions for joining and there were always members of the EY team to assist us if there were any technical issues. Each of the interactive activites were all very well thoguht out and easy to participate in, with talks being given on their structure and support being made available at all times.
While only a week long, this internship has helped me develop many skills that can be applied to my degree. These include presentation skills, analysis techniques, critical thinking, communication and organisation. There was also a huge amount of information given to us on working at EY. This included our roles, the structure of the grad scheme, completing tests for accountancy qualifications, as well as all of the opportunites we would be given, both on the job and extra-curricular.
The Company
The one week EY virtual experience was very well thought out and structured in a very intuitive way. We began with many talks from some experienced employees at the company with significantly varied backgrounds, which really helped my understanding of the process and culture at EY. We also had various interactive activites that were both enjoyable and informative, as well as a case study which was integrated nicely with the rest of the daily sesssions.
The atmosphere throughout the 1 week virtual internship was always very welcoming and engergetic. Every speaker and EY student recruitment employee was very excited and honest when sharing, giving a great impression the company. Whenever there was a technical issue or other problem, the team were very happy and quick to remedy the situation. My case study group was full of amazing and enthusiastic interns, and the support staff were very helpful in offering some extra insight where possible.
