About You
It was very insightful and engaging. i liked the fact that it was interactive with quizes etc. as just listening to presentations without interacting can be draining after a while. Also everyone was very talkative and Friendly and there was a lot of effort put in to make the environment as fun as possible. The organiser was such a lovely person as well as she listened to everyones problems and suggestions and always tried to be as engaging as possible.
I felt very valued in the sense that, since it was a virtual insight, they wanted me to be there. They were really invested in making sure that any questions i had where answerd and there was always room for me to take part/ put myself forward for an activity if i really wanted to. I really felt like they cared bout my wellbeing and gave a lot of time for breaks and time to rejuvenate.
There was a lot of Guidance for the Virtual experience. the IB chat was always open and the responses to queries where answered really quickly when we needed them to be. There was also many Q&A session which meant that if we wanted to ask questions "in person" we could and this was helpful as sometimes it was hard to articulate the problems and questions over a message in the chat. Also we could email for advice so there were many channels to get help from.
I developed many skills using the terminal which i believe will be vital in pursuing a career either with this company or in the industry that I plan to go into. Aside from this I learnt a lot about working in the fianace industry and I believe this will be helpful in applying for future insight weeks and internships. the sales information will be very relevant for life as well in terms of persuasive skills and learning to sell yourself.
The Company
The Virtual insight experience was very well structured. the days were really full but they stuck very closely to the itinerary and gave a lot of warning before beging the next sessions. the only thing was ther ewas a lt f switiching between nexi rooms which was a bit confusing and meant we ended up entering the wrong rooms at the wrong time. A few mixups did occur and also there was confusion sometimes when we went onto break when we werent leaving the main session.
The atmosphere was absolutly amazing even though it was virtual. everyone was engaging and tried to talk to each other. jokes where acknowledged and everyones contributions where counted so no one felt left out. the multiple chats also helped to foster friendships and a warm environment as we got to meet all the people in the experience in a similar way to how we would meet the in real life. the smaller groups also helped to ceat a warm environment
Not much as this was only and insight week
This experience was so helpful as I learnt so much about the different departments as well as the route we could take through the company. I learnt about what the work life balance is like within the company. I learnt ehat the hours are like in the company and even got to practice a phantom call which is great experience for a role in analytics and sales. they were very insightful and eager to answer questions that we had about the roles with the company.
I think that the expereince was also key in learning the interaction between the values of the company and how it affects the way the employees work. I got to hear first hand as well what long term employees thought of the company and why they liked wrking there for so long.
It was very valauble as i really was already interested in working in the company and this was very useful in helping to answer any questins i had abut working hours and about outside of work activities and work life balance. This experience also alleviated a lot of my fears as allowing us a little bit of exposure to practicing some of the skills necessary to working for them i was able to see that i am actually capable to apply for a role/internship with this company.
Everything Else
Yes there were a few but not many as they were only around to do presentations and then there wasn't much time to network without adding them on linkedin or messaging them, and they may not always respond. But there were Team leaders with us throughout the week who were constantly with us and we were able to network with them very well and ask questions and get to kow them really well. so overall the networking was ok.
Yes they where really insightful into their work life balance and they also told us a lot about the best of bloomberg volunteering/ philanthropic intiatives that all the employees can get involved in.
Yes definitely!
