About You
I thoroughly enjoyed my week at Dentons where I had the opportunity to sit in two different practice seats, attend lunchtime seminars with topics including Dentons' focus on diversity and inclusivity, and gain an insight into the type of work a typical trainee at Dentons will undertake. The more I learnt about Dentons, the more motivated I felt to become a part of this innovative legal business.
I immediately felt welcomed into both the DR and Competition teams and felt supported throughout my week by the fantastic Graduate Recruitment Team and my wonderful supervisors and buddies. I had the opportunity to work on live matters and felt that my work was contributing towards a case.
The Graduate Recruitment Team were always on hand to answer any questions and there were regular check-ups throughout the day with supervisors and trainees to make sure I was on the right track. I felt encouraged to ask for help when I had a question concerning a task and this really helped me to feel comfortable and make the most of the week.
My placement at Dentons has solidified my desire to work in an international commercial law firm and has motivated me to begin thinking about the type of seats I would like to undertake during a traineeship. It was also invaluable to speak to my supervisors and buddies about their experiences during the diploma and the path that they took to reach Dentons.
The Company
Every day was action-packed and I really felt that I was able to make the most out of my week. Attending lunchtime seminars was a great way to learn more about Dentons and the tasks that I was set in both my seats gave me an idea of the types of typical tasks a trainee might be asked to do.
The atmosphere at Dentons felt inclusive, friendly and welcoming. My supervisors and buddies were very helpful and I even had the opportunity to sit in a client meeting with a partner.
I was encouraged to attend seminars discussing Dentons culture and this gave me a fantastic insight into the firm's inclusive and diverse culture.
Taking part in the Dentons vacation scheme has motivated me even further to follow a career in international commercial law and I am extremely excited to start a career in this area.
