About You
I really enjoyed my virtual vacation scheme with Dentons. Despite the fact that the scheme was done virtually, there was a great combination of interesting work, social events and presentations and talks from people at the firm. Although it would have been great to have experienced the firm in person, in particular to see how the office operated, the virtual experience still provided a great insight into the the work Dentons does, and its culture.
Dentons made me feel very valued during my virtual vacation scheme and the lead up to it. For example, graduate recruitment called me a number of times in the lead up to the scheme, and my supervisors during the scheme always had time for me.
There was a great level of support and guidance provided during the virtual vacation scheme. This included regular catch-up calls with my supervisors and a chat with graduate recruitment at the beginning and end of each day.
Although the length of the scheme was relatively short, the work I engaged in gave me a true insight into the type of work that a leading global law firm engages in, and the standard of work required. This will assist me greatly when carrying out that type of work in future.
The Company
The structure of the scheme was very good, with there being a great combination of different activities. Although the length of the scheme was relatively short, the time was used very efficiently to give a great impression of the firm.
Everyone I met was very friendly and welcoming, which created a great atmosphere.
There was great feedback provided at the end of each working day, which is very useful for future development.
The virtual vacation scheme provided a great insight into Dentons, including its people, the work, and the culture. The firm did very well in providing all the necessary information relating to what a career at Dentons would be like.
I gained a very good understanding of the culture at Dentons. It particularly helped that I had the opportunity to speak with people at all levels of the firm, from trainee level up to partner level.
The scheme gave me an insight into areas of law I did not know much about previously, which will help me in future when considering where my interests lie. The scheme also confirmed my desire to pursue a career with Dentons.
Everything Else
There were many opportunities to network and meet employees of all levels at the firm.
There were a number of networking events with a range of people at the firm, which were very interesting and provided many opportunities to ask questions. There was also a creative social event on the first day, which was a great ice-breaker and got everyone involved.
I was told a lot about the societies and social events available for the firm's people outside of work.
I would definitely recommend this experience to a friend if they are interested in law and want to pursue a career at a leading global law firm.
