    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed working with the company because of the strong sense of community and I really liked my team. I got to learn a lot about the role and how to use a lot of new software and skills

  • I was given a wide range of tasks and there was always someone available to help if I needed it

  • I was given a wide range of tasks and there was always someone available to help if I needed it My manager had check in with me throughout the year

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On some days I'd find myself lacking in tasks to do however closer to the deadlines there was at times too much work which requires to stay late multiple days a week

  • I was given many tasks and trained however the majority was simple CAD work

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned a lot about what software is used in industry and how to use standards for deign

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The interview process was straight forward and I received a decision really quickly. The placement itself did not have a set structure, I was mainly assisting my team with any projects that they had at the time. I was the first placement student this team has had which is why there wasn't a set structure at the time

  • The company provided many opportunities for growth, both personal and work related. There were many meetings, talks and tutorials provided by the company on a range of topics

  • I'd love to work for the company again if I had the chance

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a good social environment in the office however he number of placement students was limited so there wasn't a specific student social group

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Sheffield had great prices for accommodation

  • 5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were often activities related to hiking and cycling, yoga and climbing however other options were limited
