The Role
I enjoyed working with the company because of the strong sense of community and I really liked my team. I got to learn a lot about the role and how to use a lot of new software and skills
I was given a wide range of tasks and there was always someone available to help if I needed it
I was given a wide range of tasks and there was always someone available to help if I needed it My manager had check in with me throughout the year
On some days I'd find myself lacking in tasks to do however closer to the deadlines there was at times too much work which requires to stay late multiple days a week
I was given many tasks and trained however the majority was simple CAD work
I learned a lot about what software is used in industry and how to use standards for deign
The Company
The interview process was straight forward and I received a decision really quickly. The placement itself did not have a set structure, I was mainly assisting my team with any projects that they had at the time. I was the first placement student this team has had which is why there wasn't a set structure at the time
The company provided many opportunities for growth, both personal and work related. There were many meetings, talks and tutorials provided by the company on a range of topics
I'd love to work for the company again if I had the chance
The Culture
There was a good social environment in the office however he number of placement students was limited so there wasn't a specific student social group
Sheffield had great prices for accommodation
There were often activities related to hiking and cycling, yoga and climbing however other options were limited
