The Role
I found it incredibly informative and interesting - it allowed me an insight into various aspects of a career in an investment bank.
Through lots of interactive tasks, I felt like I got to know my fellow interns very well and established a good relationship with them. The graduates I work shadowed were also incredibly helpful and offered good advice and information on RBS.
I felt that the support I was given was fantastic. As I do not come from a financial background, I found the initial day of the internship very useful in confirming the basic knowledge and terminology I would require, which could then be developed over the course of the week through various activities.
I felt that we were also kept busy and with a variety of different tasks which were important in giving me an insight into various departments of the bank.
We were given responsibility during our own tasks such as during trading and banking assessments.
I feel that the skills I have developed and training I have received will be hugely beneficial in terms of future internships and a career in banking.
The Company
I felt that the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming.
The internship was incredibly well organised and structured so that I always knew where I was expected to be and what my timetable consisted of throughout the week.

Working from home
I have an offer for an internship in Summer 2013.
The Culture
As a group, I felt that the interns all got on extremely well together and were encouraged to spend time working together and getting to know one another.
As we were in London, the cost of living and socialising was more expensive than elsewhere, however Royal Bank of Scotland offered accommodation and also organised a social event on the final evening.
We were given the opportunity to take part in a CSR project on our final day, working with schoolchildren.
