The Role
I really enjoyed the placement, it was great to work alongside such a great team and get to work on a large variety of problems.
Very valued. I was given authority to do a wide array of work and able to write my own documentation for certain problems that our customers encountered. In meetings, it felt as though my opinion mattered just as much as anyone else’s which was greatly appreciated.
I was given lots of support by my supervisors, whenever I struggled with approaches to certain issues.
This varied heavily, mainly depending on the amount of tickets that were being logged for support issues. Some weeks were a lot busier than others, but suitable measures were in place to help reduce the amount of tickets when there were too many in the pool.
Lots, I was responsible for many aspects of 1st line support and database management which meant there’d always be something to do.
I developed both soft skills and technical skills that will help me be much more confident in the future.
The Company
Friendly and jovial.
Very well organised even despite the COVID-19 situation.
A lot, they allowed me to take on side projects which helped develop my knowledge about JavaScript and web development.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
The employment prospects are very appealing within ProspectSoft.
The Culture
Yes, I got along splendidly with all my fellow colleagues and the huge amount of opportunities to get involved in various activities, made the social scene more than good. Great in fact. Some of my favourite things that I got involved in with the company were: Golfing, bouldering, pizza nights, curry nights, gaming, bar crawls and lots more.
Cheap as chips, thanks to sharing with 5 other housemates. There’s plenty of social events and venues in the area. I got involved in the local parkruns which are free to participate in, and a couple of food and drink festivals which only had a small entry fee. I managed to get a half set of golf clubs from a local chap too for only £10 and would go to the driving range with some of placements for a round and a pint which was a lot cheaper than expected.
Terrific. Lots of bars and places to go to.
Yes, with activities such as weekly bouldering sessions and lots of golfing before winter whilst it was still sunny after work.
