The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Arup. Throughout I have found the experience to be exciting, challenging, and thought provoking. I am extremely proud to have developed good working relationships within the company whilst also developing my skill set and confidence.
I have been extremely fortunate to have spent my time within the acoustics team at ARUP Leeds. My colleagues here been fantastic throughout, and I am pleased to consider them as friends outside of the office. Beyond this office I have also developed a number of great relationships which I truly value.

I have tried to maintain a high level of billability in taks throughout the year. This has admittedly dropped during the lockdown period, but I have filled my time with training tasks and moodle modules.
I feel the level of responsibility given to me during placement was to an appropriate level for my grade and understanding of both the field of acoustics and the company itself.
I have already completed an undergraduate degree in music technology, and a postgraduate diploma in acoustics and noise control. This placement was excellent in developing these skills and I'm pleased to say I have accepted a graduate role at the company where I will be able to utilize them.

The Culture
Great social scene with my colleagues in the acoustic team. I also joined the cricket team (the fact that we have one is quite amazing to me) and the spanish club.
Similar price range to what I'm used to.
I have to say in light of covid 19 the opportunities for night time activity were understandably limited. But as a music fan I am aware of the great music scene in Leeds.
A great deal of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work. I myself joined the cricket and spanish clubs.
