The Role
I really enjoyed, it was above expectations. Despite the fact that internship was virtual, I learned a lot, did tangible work, and had I chance to interact with my colleagues. Everything was very well organized in advance. I liked the work that I was doing because it involved a direct application of my knowledge in practice.
My colleagues made me feel as part of the team. They were very open and helpful. I always received feedback on the work that I was doing. I was given responsibility from the very beginning.
My manager was calling me everyday to check-in and ask if I have some questions or problems. He gave me some responsibility and freedom but at the same guided me. However, he did not always have time to have proper conversations with me and thoroughly check the work that I have done.
I was usually busy from 8 until 7, which I think was very good. Last week was a bit more relaxed because I completed almost all of my projects by that time
I was given lots of responsibility. There was a project that I completed from scratch on my own, receiving only some guidance in the beginning. I had a chance to decide how I will do the project and which resources I will use.
I improved my understanding of financial markets and investment, Excel and Power BI skills. Due to the presentations I attended, now I know how asset management companies are structured and what employees are doing during the day. It was a very valuable experience which will help me further in my career.
The Company
Did not visit the office unfortunately but even virtually everyone was very friendly to me. However, I cannot deny the fact that I would have learned even more if I went to the office.
Everything was very well organized. Some planned events did not take place but they were not of great importance.
we had lots of training options available, and the HR did their best to improve our team-working skills.
Working from home
very appealing. they give us a chance to be selected for the graduate scheme, which consists of 3 6-months rotations.
The Culture
does not apply to me, as I had a virtual internship
