About You
I think the internship was very enjoyable since it entailed a lot of diverse activities and projects. It allowed me to learn a lot about the business of the company as well as having a great training. Moreover, I really appreciated the networking possibilities. Great relationship with the other interns. Another great part of the internship was the possibility to shadow meetings and learn a lot from other reps. Very interested in all the Diversity events and talks.
To a great extent. There were a lot of on boarding meetings and trainings. Above all, we continously received feedback for our work either formal or informal. The fformal feedbacks were really well structured and the managers were constantly giving informal feedback when required. Also the mentors continously and proactively reached out to us to offer help and their tips were very valuable. Also the internship Task force was very approachable and ready to help.
The support we received was very extensive: - the managers and TLs were always available for guidance and support - my project leader for sales and my AT TL was always available for 1to1s - the Sales reps were really willing to help me with the project - technical support was very good and also the support from HR was amazing - appreciated a lot the support I had from my mentors and diversity connector
Learning how to use the Bloomberg Terminal is definitely an invaluable skill to have. Also the finance training we received was really helpful especially if you do not have an heavy finance background. Also, I feel like my presentation sills have improved during the course of the internship. Another thing that I got to improve is client interaction and relationship. This internship made me much more confident in dealing with client interactions and to cope with objections.
The Company
The program was very structured: - we had two days in sales, two in analytics and one day for calling competition - all the training was very well structured and the teachers were really engaging - the activities were all well structured (phantom chats etc) - really appreciated the social events - I liked the fact that throughout the internship we managed to get a very good overview of the different departments - good networking spaces allocated
The atmosphere was very collaborative and friendly. We were given the chance to: - shadow more experienced reps and learn from them - they were always more than happy to onboard us - lots of networking opportunities - the diversity sessions were amazing - everybody is always willing to help you and to support you There is always someone who you can talk to in case you experience difficulties in your work and that's very valuable.
The company heavily invested in our training. The first two weeks were almost entirely dedicated to it and even afterwards there was a lot of training involved on BBG products. The training was followed by some quizzes which tested our knowledge. The training as well as the teacher was really engaging and the teachers were always available for questions afterwards. Also we were given access to LinkedIn learning and other resources to learn more and get ttraining.
I think the virtual internship gave me a full overview of what the full time job will look like as well as possible career advancements within the firm once you join full time. All the simulations we had were aimed au making us understand the full time role and also we had several client interactions that helped us understanding how this goes for the full time job. Also had meetings with more advanced reps to understand future developments.
The company culture was tangible even with a remote internship. Both the continuous support that you had from people and the different events helped us grasp the collaborative and supportive culture Bloomberg has. Also, the strong focus on diversity and philanthropy is something that really distinguishes this company. There were several online charity events organized and several discussions panels we could attend. Also the relationships we build with people will be long lasting and fruitful.
