    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
  • When I received an email confirming that the original 6-week internship was changing to a virtual platform I was unsure how my experience would be the same. However, EY ensured that the virtual experience exceeded everybody's expectations. The platform Microsoft Teams was very efficient and it was easy to contact student recruitment or our sub-service line mangers. Each day was packed with networking sessions, case-study sessions, training sessions and much more.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • EY encouraged all of us to participate and ensured that everybody was catered for. They were very understanding and I benefited immensely from the buddy-sessions. A chance to ask any questions about the firm or the role that we may have. Everybody was very welcoming and friendly, they encouraged questions and no question was a silly one!

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the virtual experience?
  • They consistently had a main chatroom function where we could report technical issues, they also provided documents on what to do in the event that our Microsoft Teams software was not working. Not only this, but we were emailed our schedule with all the links ahead of each day so that we could easily navigate between sessions.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt several excel tips which I can now implement at university in projects. I also enhanced my team working skills and the speed and which I form interpersonal relationships which I can use in my future career and in my studies.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the virtual experience?
  • Very well structured - ensured that every day was what you make it, opportunities to really get the most out of the experience.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your virtual experience?
  • The Student Recruitment team couldn't do enough for you ensuring that your experience was the best it could be. The manager in the Transactions Diligence department was very welcoming and friendly, she consistently dedicated her time to us around her own work schedule. She challenged us through our case study, as a result, by the end of the week I had come on leaps and bounds.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had several training sessions throughout the week on core skills - such as presentation skills. Also a chance to ask questions.

  • 8. To what extent did the virtual experience help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
