The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was extremely insightful. The work given was meaningful and I learnt a lot.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. I was integrated into my team very quickly. Everyone was extremely welcoming and the brokers had me assisting them on different accounts immediately.
I was given a lot of support. I had regular catch ups with my manager and connector. I was given very good practical advice that enhanced my experience on the internship.
The team kept me busy. I was assisting different brokers with various tasks so there was always something to do. I also had a project to complete during my internship so that kept me busy also.
I was given alot of responsibility. I was trusted to work with US retail colleagues and markets independently. This gave me practical experience and helped me develop quite quickly.
It has enhanced my teamworking skills that I will utilise in various group projects during my final year of university .
The Company
N/A. The internship was virtual
It was organised very well. Although it was virtual, the early careers team gave use many opportunities to network and learn from senior colleagues. It was clear that a lot of planning went into it as the internship ran extremely smoothly with no hiccups.
We had many learning and development sessions that helped us develop our Aon IQ and also improve our personal brand.
Working from home
Things are looking promising. However with that being said nothing is guaranteed so I will have to wait and see.
The Culture
N/A as this was a virtual internship. However we still had some virtual social evennts.
N/A . I worked from the family home so the cost was zero.
N/A work from home so there was not a nightlife
Even though it was a work from home internship, I still managed to meet some of the individuals on my team (whilst mataining social distancing).
