The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed the internship this summer, learning a lot, working hard and progressing as an intern. We have had endless support and encouragement from the internship team leaders which has made us all feel welcomed. We have been encouraged to push our selves and apply our skills which has been enjoyable but also very crucial to our personal development. I would highly recommend this internship to everyone as it has been an amazing experience, and I appreciate the opportunity largely.
I have loved getting to know the other interns, despite the virtual interaction. Each person has brought something interesting to the team and has different yet valuable skills. I feel like we can have coherent discussion and the outcome of our project has resulted in very informative presentations. We all have a positive impact and each member feels valued equally. I feel as though we all can empathise with each other and therefore help each other achieve our full potential.
The supervisors have stood out as fantastic, kind, helpful, resourceful leaders. They have been supportive from day one and made the experience enjoyable and very informative. We have been supported at all times and encouraged to give honest feedback which has been valuable for the entirety of the internship. They have been relatable, encouraging and pushed us to reach our full potential. The experience has been very fun and despite the circumstances, they have turned the internship into the best possible outcome.
We had the perfect balance of teamwork, independent work and learning sessions from leaders. I thoroughly enjoyed the learning sessions, covering topics of collaboration, resilience and being fit for the future. These have been incredibly helpful and I feel as though I have learnt a lot. I also really enjoyed the independent work as I felt I could put my university skills to use. Not only this, but working with my team was also fantastic at keeping me busy and engaged.
I felt responsible for producing a project that would impress the supervisors, and therefore I felt as though I had a valued impact. It was not an overwhelming amount so I felt as though I could keep up with my work, the perfect amount of responsibility. We had the option to also take action of our own responsibilities of meeting the other interns and making sure we form positive relationships which was great. Therefore, we all gained a sense of leadership at one time or another.
I believe that what I learnt on the internship is incredibly beneficial form my future career development. I have learnt a lot about developing confidence, when presenting, with my work and the correct way to work in a team. I therefore now believe that I am fit for a career in business and prepared for a career at Tesco. I feel more confident, more informed and prepared for working life and have a better understanding of what is required and needed for a positive impact on a company.
The Company
The atmosphere was positive, everyone was in a good mood and happy to be there. That was due to the kind and encouragement of the supervisors and leadership team who made it a welcoming experience. I believe that we all were excited to learn and understand more about the company and so the environment was positive. We were encouraged to be kind to each other and get to know each other on a personal level.
The organisation was absolutely perfect, we were told the entire plan of the internship from day one which was completely clear and we understood exactly what was required of us. I always knew what to do and never felt confused or unsure which made me feel confident and able to manage my time well. They made everything clear on the first few days and we were able to ask questions at any point if we were unsure.
The firm invested a lot into me and encouraged me to develop my skills to my full potential. I was actually encouraged to pursue a career at Tesco which gave me full confidence in my self as they believed that I had the skills ready to work there permanently which made me feel more valued. They put effort into making me push myself and develop so that I could be prepared for a career with Tesco.

Working from home
The future prospects are great for those graduating which is exciting and reassuring. We feel as though we are all fit for a future at Tesco as they have pushed us and given us confidence to pursue a career. We are all very impressed with Tesco and everyone I have spoken to wants to work at Tesco in the future who has done the internship because of the positive atmosphere and the kindness of the colleagues.
The Culture
Despite the current Covid situation there was a great social scene and I was able to get to know the other interns which I did not believe was possible over the computer but it was actually extremely effective and we were able to get to know each other. I organised a virtual art class which was lovely and we got to know each other a bit better. I have made a life long friend out of the internship
No cost because of working from home - very cheap
None because of the covid situation
No because of Covid
