The Role
It wasn't exactly related to my degree. I found the internship a bit boring at times and I feel that the company didn't use my full potential. Things weren't as smooth as I would expect them to be from the start and my own team was barely approachable for any help. Other than that, it was great working for a company like Rolls Royce but I would rather have a job where I feel that I'm valued.
I felt like an outsider who tried very hard to fit in. There wasn't much of an effort from the team to make me feel comfortable or to accommodate me from the start. There was little to no help and I found myself doing absolutely nothing a few times during the placement. In one way or another, you could say that it wasn't the best experience I will ever have. I felt like a small person throughout my placement.
Not much support. I had to do much of the learning on my own and when I asked for guidance, there was barely anyone there to help and it was really frustrating at times. I had to approach people several times to get them to teach me what I had to do. Most of the times I felt like as if I was being very pushy and should stop asking people. There could have been more support.
There was never a perfect balance. One day I could find myself way too busy and some days I would just sit counting hours. In the end I just wanted to get my placement done and move on. I feel that if they had trained me prperly, I would have had the chance to try and help the department in every aspect but sadly that wasn't the case and I ended up bored hald of the time.
Not a lot of responsibility. Certainly not as much as I would have liked and enjoyed. Felt like I was just one of those in the backgroud who does little stuff which doesn't really matter. Was never the part fo something core and it felt like as if they didn't want me to have many responsibilities so I can just run my contract down and be forgotten. Things could have been done in a better way.
I would say that I received more IT based set of skills which comes from me doing a lot of learning online in order to assist my departments needs. but this is not related to my degree in any way but I was happy to do so. There wasn't a lot of training because there wasn't much support and it could've been a better experience. There is still so much I don't know how to do.
The Company
The atmosphere was lively and the people were generally very nice and hardworking. You couldn't tell the difference between and manager and an apprentice. People were friendly and definitely up for a conversation any time. Youcould talk to them if they were not too busy. It was a good balance between work and enjoyment but then again, I think at least my own team should be a bit more approachable when it comes to training.
Lets just say that it wasn't the best. When I joined in, I didn't have a desk or a laptop assigned to me. My uniform came in 8 months after I joined which probably tells a lot about how things were so mismanaged. The day I arrived was funny as well as the people in my department weren't aware that I was joining. I switched around empty seats or try to find a place to sit for the first two weeks.
No investment whatsoever. I don't think I can put it in any more words. I don't remember the last time my own team trained me on something so there's that.

Rolls Royce Motor Cars is a place where I would love to work as it was my childhood dream to work for them. Not sure if I would stay with the same department because of how I was treated and how I felt. I would rather be in the engineering team rather than the quality department where everyone seems to be unhelpful
The Culture
It was okayish. Not a lot of meet ups or anything. I am not a very outgoing person myself so couldn't say much. I was invited to a couple of night outs but that's about it.
Balanced I think. It wasn't overly expensive but then again wasn't the cheapest place I have been to.
Horrible. Chichester is a tiny city where everything shuts off at 5. Then again I'm not the one to judge as I am not a very outgoing person. But everything was very quiet at night time.
I played a lot fo football with colleagues. every wednesday and friday we would have a game. but not many other opportunities.
