    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • This placement year has been an amazing opportunity and I recommend it to anyone looking for industrial experience with real responsibility and the chance to become part of an international organisation as a valuable employee.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The integration between students and other employees of all types was facilitated very well by the UK HR team and also our plant HR. There were multiple events which presented opportunities to become more part of the team and every day the praise and involvement was evidence of how valued I felt as an employee more than a student.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support given by the management team is unparalleled. Although I, as a student, was encouraged to have maximum autonomy in all my daily tasks, there was never a time I felt uncomfortable asking for help from any employees including managers.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My role consists of many standard tasks per day which did contribute to being quite busy on a daily basis. However, working in material planning, my most busy times came when various emergencies occurred regarding inbound material.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My role came with more responsibility than first anticipated. I have a new found confidence after being encouraged into a path of full autonomy and accountability on a daily basis ranging from standard tasks of inbound transport to project based work such as Brexit safety stocks and so on.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My degree is in business with international management and so this placement year has provided me with an understanding of the gap between academic theory and industrial practice. I have learned so much more logistics specific knowledge and more in softer skills such as communication and working relations that are not encountered in university lifestyle.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A very supportive and encouraging environment by employees who are kind enough to offer mentoring while on placement.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement programme is ran with maximum efficiency by UK HR who have a magnitude of experience into how to produce the best placement year for each individual student. Overall, the placement was very well organised and preformed very well in the difficult times of the Covid19 pandemic.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were two training opportunities, both relating to the implementation of new software in the business, however allowed me to become more familiar with a system used industry wide.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Faurecia run a graduate scheme and a VIE scheme. The graduate scheme is offered to all placement students depending that they meet specific requirements. This scheme also offers a bespoke masters course, which is fully funded by the business and supported by the business giving time off dedicated to this study, making the graduate scheme very appealing and rewarding.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Social relationships are encouraged both inside and outside the work place and due to the placement programme running so many events to involve the students this help us create a better team as student's and become friends outside of work.
