The Role
I really enjoyed my time at Softwire. The project I was put on was really interesting, everyone in the company was very friendly. Despite it taking place in lockdown, it was a great experience and I learnt so much.
I felt really valued. My points were listened to and I was given responsibility and autonomy over my work.
Both my manager and line manager made themselves readily available. Always had options as to who to ask questions.
I was given chunks of work to do myself and chances to research which route a piece of work should take.
The Company
The internship was really well structured. I received 2 weeks of training at the beginning in which I learn the skills vital for the project I was on.
We were trained for 2 weeks and then had a mentor the whole way through who was focused on our personal development.
The Culture
The internship was remote due to Covid, which means the scope for social events was much smaller. But there were still online morale events organised every week which were easy to join.
