The Role
My placement year at MSD was thoroughly enjoyable and my team were so supportive of my development and great to work with
My manager and colleagues in my team provided the opportunity for me to lead on many different projects as well as shadow and work with them during my time at the company. Everyone is so friendly and I was able to work collaboratively across other teams to add value.
I had lots of support, from my team, even more so through COVID-19. I had regular 1:1s with my manager, team members and also development discussions with key stakeholder.
At times, I had lots of work but I thrive on this and prefer it! It gave me the opportunity to gain experiences in several areas and a deeper understanding of the industry.
There was opportunities and initiates I was able to lead and implement on during my placement but I still had the support and guidance from my team and manager to ensure I was on the right path to meet my objective and have the best results when I needed.
My placement has not just developed my competencies as a professional but taught me more about who I am and my values, particularly how I really value inclusivity and positive culture, which the company strongly advocates. This will benefit me throughout life and ensure I can have a positive impact in my work and studies!
The Company
We received an induction as well as tutorials on CVs, personal branding and public speaking which were really beneficial. At the end of our placement we had an end of year presentation to reflect on our year.
I was able to travel abroad and attend meetings, congress' and so much more!! I understanding of the industry was really broadened as a result.
