The Role
The internship was really enjoyable. My team always tried to give me work that aligned with my interests.
The team did a great job of making me feel welcome. I always felt comfortable asking questions.
My line managers were really clear about the work they wanted me to do. They provided clear guidance and examples on how to start.
There were some times when I had little to do, but most of the time there was always something to be getting involved with.
I was able to contribute quite a lot to a piece of work that the team were working on at the time. This involved working independently to identify trends and come up with explanations for them.
I was able to develop a wide variety of skills, particularly when it comes to analysis and communication .
The Company
The internship was carried out remotely, but the team did a really good job of making me feel welcome. Part of this involved daily catchups with line managers.
The internship was a really useful experience and was carried out really well considering the challenges of working remotely. There were occasions when I didn't have much to do, but usually I had a clear idea of what I should be getting on with. The central team also put on a lot of training and insightful speaker sessions. I thought that these were very well planned and immensely useful.
There was a large amount of training put on for us during the course of the internship. Part of this included some speaker sessions that were really insightful! My line managers also had regular catchups with me to make sure that I was getting the most out of the internship experience.
Working from home
The organisation seems to have a really healthy culture and invest heavily in those who are just starting their careers.
The Culture
This is really difficult to encourage when people are working from home, but the organisation did a great job of encouraging us to network and reach out to other interns. Some of the training and projects we were given was also very interactive.
