    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Such a great insight scheme, the KPMG team were amazing and so supportive to make sure that the placement was as informative as it can be. All the sessions were very well planned and allowed for insight into both the firm and the culture itself. The people were incredibly friendly and I will definitely be applying for KPMG in the future

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Felt incredibly supported and valued - the scheme was directed at women and it was amazing to have to much female representation within the firm to talk to us. Felt very confident in having the skill set to be successful in KPMG and since the group was very select, they made sure that everyone was supported which I really appreciate

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • So much, even with the technical aspect KPMG still made it incredibly interactive and fun. All instructions were very clear and I received a lot of feedback on the tasks I did which I am very appreciative for.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Very good - learned about the skills KPMG value and was able to develop them across the scheme via various tasks. Learnt more about large professional service firms and how businesses operate which is outside my degree completely - this is really useful information when I come to applying for jobs

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very well structured- the days were split into both informative and interactive sessions which allowed me to meet other people and develop core skills. I was also able to meet people across the firm on multiple occasions and ask about what they did

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Amazing - everyone was incredibly friendly and genuinely wanted to learn more about the firm and programme. The staff were incredibly supportive and the firms volunteers were also very keen to see me succeed in the future and offered me lots of guidance

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • So much - there were so many sessions dedicated to ensuring we develop our skill set and to ensure that we thrive in a corporate setting. I also understood al the training and is provided in the firm and how the supportive the firm in about your own personal career journeys and how accommodating they are to everyone’s circumstances

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Very good - explained all the different services that they provide and how they differ form each other and the type of work that each does. Also had an understanding of my long term career progress at the company and how the first few years of my career can span out

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Very very helpful- KPMG culture is unique and very human centric. The people were super friendly and were very helpful in aiding my understand what the culture at the firm is like and how this is different to their competitors. Also had an understanding of the firms core values and what makes them unique

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Incredibly helpful- I didn’t know much about this sector before the scheme but now This is something that interests me and definitely something that I will look further. I also was able to examine different career paths within this sector which allowed me to distinguish better what I was more suited to doing

  • No I was not paid


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes lots of opportunities to meet lots of different people in the firm and ask them about their experiences in a more intimate setting. Also had opportunities to network with other participants on the scheme via a group exercise

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • There were icebreakers at the start of each day which were very fun and informative given the covid circumstances. All the people networked with were very friendly and keen to answer questions

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I got to find out about some of the social activities that employers do but this was dependent on their role and sector

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • 100% - incredibly insightful and all the sessions were very well planned and executed. Genuinely felt like I have developed key skills and the tasks that were set were very useful in mimicking some of the things that KPMG employees may do. Most importantly all the people were very supportive, particularly when it came to the assessments
