About You
It was a very insightful experience. I really appreciated the honestly and transparency that we received from those that worked at the FCA during the ‘Things I Wish I Knew’ session. I’m also really grateful to have experienced and receive feedback on a assessment centre and hopefully I may be able to apply the feedback that I received to different aspects of my career and personal life.
Mariam and her colleagues put a lot of effort into their presentations, the information that was relayed to us was detailed and extremely helpful. It made me feel that they really cared.
All questions and worry’s were answered in great detail and so much advice was given to us. It made me feel at ease especially because they were honest which made processing what they were telling us even better.
I learnt a lot about how to maximise and develop my personal brand and overcome imposter syndrome. This would definitely help me in every aspect of my life as it really made me appreciate who I am as a person and build my confidence.
The Company
There were frequent breaks and all sessions were useful which helped keep me engaged and enthusiastic throughout.
Everyone was extremely lovely and friendly. A LinkedIn group was created between us and it would be great to keep in contact with everyone post this experience.
I’m really appreciative of the fact that we were able to talk to and hear from different people within FCA such as a recent graduate and those from different departments. They took time to answer any of our questions and were very sincere and empathetic too. The use of the assessment centre has really prepared me for future applications I may make and has taught me a lot that I can use to my advantage.
FCA is founded on integrity and honesty and that was really represented by Mariam and her colleagues. They were honest and open about their experiences and any injustices they may have faced as BAME which really allowed me to relate and feel included.
Assured me that I want to work within Finance and make a difference to everyday lives.
Everything Else
Majority of the sessions were with different people from different departments and backgrounds. It allowed me to gain a wide and in-depth perspective of the day-to-day work life in the FCA.
They were great. Not only was I able to network with those that work at FCA, I was able to build a relationship with other participants on the programme which has resulted in the created of a group chat on LinkedIn. Everybody was friendly and open to discussion.
Definitely extremely valuable to have, no matter what your academic background may be.
