    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
  • Surprisingly very well, I did not expect the experience I had virtually, I felt like i got to know my group and leaders very well. The organisation of the programme virtually was spot on, there was allocated break times, allocated discussion times and allocated speaker sessions (that all ran smoothly). Microsoft Teams is a good tool to use for this kind of programme as there is many ways to interact including chat bar at the side, raise had feature to ensure everyone gets their say and also mute/unmute microphone feature.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is an extremely fair and well organised host and programme creator. She made me feel valued, for example, if my colleagues or I raised our hand in the video call she would give us all a chance to ask questions and give our opinions. The company has genuine concern for our personal development, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] emphasised this in her session with the team. All team members had good things to say about the FCA which was really good to hear.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the virtual experience?
  • Guidance and support was exceptional, especially in preparation for the assessment centre. Personally, what I gained from the prep talks, motivational talks, academic tips, networking advice and all career aspects was outstanding and I can 100% take all of the guidance to any workplace or job I apply for, and even through day to day life. I also emailed [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] later on after the session as I had a quick question, the response was prompt and helpful.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The main skills I gained were in relation to the assessment centre. I felt confident with the interview side of things but what I really learned is where I need to improve. I discovered something in the written task that I lack and where there is room for improvement. Practice makes perfect and that's something I learned from this experience. I gained virtual skills, how to communicate and participate over video calls, this may be very important for my future.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the virtual experience?
  • I cannot emphasise enough how well structured the virtual experience was. I can say that its definitely the best virtual experience I have had with a company, I'm really impressed with the whole structure of the programme. Under the circumstances and time frame it was all done is astonishing so well done to the team. I honestly couldn't fault anything, all I could say is breaks could have been slightly longer. This may have been hard as there is so much to cover in such a short time.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your virtual experience?
  • There was a fun and relaxed learning atmosphere which is how I learn best. There was no pressure and all the people that participated were really friendly and nice in general. I wasn't afraid to speak up and felt like I got to know the group and leaders very well. The general atmosphere was always good as the programme never got boring, it was organised in a way that kept us all energetic and interested.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the virtual experience help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Having people speak from the FCA who have normal 9-5 jobs was good, they were very honest in saying its a big transition from university to working. I liked that, it made things very real and made me understand that having a fun time role isn't always easy. I think this is important as we need to see what the real working world is like. They all had really good things to say about the company as well, for example, the company is very diverse and interested in our own personal development.

  • 9. How much did the virtual experience help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The company culture was very clear, it was not difficult for the company to convey their culture even through the virtual experience. Their culture is diverse, open minded, all about the person rather than just what they can achieve in the workplace but what they can achieve as a person. Its ok to have a belief, in fact the FCA showed that being our own person is a positive thing. The kind company culture the FCA have is the kind where I would like to work.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very helpful, it showed me what I need to do to achieve things in general life and work. The content was all really helpful and inspiring. There was a mix of things included which was good and I felt that the team members that were presenting their work were all very passionate. That showed real interest from them and definitely made me think about doing what I enjoy in the future. The content was valuable!

  • 15. Would you recommend this virtual experience to a friend?
  • Whether my friend wanted a role within the FCA or not, I would recommend this virtual programme to them. It was really helpful and inspiring. Females of the future programme was quite empowering. The only thing I would say is its a long few days and can be quite tiring as its over a screen. This was not my first virtual experience but definitely my best virtual experiences so I would highly recommend it to my friend.
