About You
I enjoyed this placement a lot, it was another good chance to meet the people in the Savills Birmingham office, everyone was very friendly. Although the summer scheme has been cut short I have been able to spend some time in 4 different departments and completing work for them. This was great as its has enabled me to learn more and take what i have learnt at uni and apply it to the real world.
Everyone at Savills has been very friendly, not only this but they have also listened to what would help me in my development and allowed me to complete tasks which are suited to what i need to improve on. Throughout, everyone involved in the work has been very supportive and appear to have appreciated and valued the work that I have done while on this placement. I have also had the opportunity to meet a lot of people.
Throughout the placement everyone has been very supportive, they have helped me anywhere I have been unsure but I have not been micro managed and have been able to complete work by myself.
All of the skills developed here will be taken back into my studies, it provides a real world insight into the theory which we learn at uni. Knowledge picked up here will be directly relevant to the work which i complete in my final year and hopefully, as a result of this placement, the work will be less challenging when i come to complete my studies.
The Company
The insight was structured as well as it could have been, given the exceptional circumstances. I have had 3 very helpful mentors, who have all set me work and helped in any way they could. The departmental insights have also been interesting. It is a shame there was not more opportunity to partake in activities outside of the office, however this is understandable, given COVID-19.
Everyone I met was very friendly and helpful. As to be expected the office was a little flat, this was only due to the lack of numbers in the office, as most people are still working from home most of the time.
Work was given to me which was beneficial for my development, i have been asked to do nothing which would not be of any help to my development. When stuck people have been happy to help and explain.
Difficult because the physical work environment is not how it usually would be, however the work reflects what i feel i would enjoy in a future career.
The culture is very good here. Being able to interact with people from all levels has been helpful and allowed an insight into what it would be like to work here.
Very valuable, I will be applying for a graduate role here when the time comes.
Everything Else
Reimbursed up to £100.
Very little opportunity to do this. However, if not for COVID, I expect there would have been good opportunities to network and socialise.
There was only one opportunity, but this was interesting and insightful.
Yes, although these are all on hold for now.
Yes, it has been a great way to see what life as a Savills employee would be like. The insight into the types of work that each department does has also been helpful to decide what I would like to focus on in my final year of uni.
