About You
Very lucky to have the opportunity, really opened my eyes up to the world of commercial property investment. Everyone in my team- especially the graduates were extremely nice and very helpful. Considering covid 19 restricted the placement, I still managed to really enjoy myself and hope to have an opportunity to come back to Savills soon.
My team where very busy most of the time, but despite this they gave me enough work to be getting on with to make me feel as if i was contributing some value to the team.
Despite the team being extremely busy, when I asked questions or needed help with a task someone in the team would always be there to help.
To a high extent. The information given to me in terms of reports, leases, proposals, cash flows etc was very valuable towards both my degree and my future career. The tasks given to me allowed me to become familiar as to what is expected of a graduate in commercial property. Attending the SON meeting and hearing [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] opinion on the current property market was invaluable, this information will be very helpful when applying to Savills graduate scheme next year.
The Company
The summer scheme presentations were very well structured. The work I did in my team was structured to an extent- I always had something to work on the whole time I was here, which I was very happy with.
The atmosphere was dynamic. Everyone in my team is clearly hardworking and motivated- there attitude has definitely rubbed off on me and will encourage me to work even harder to obtain a place on Savills grad scheme next year.
They provided me with enough work and information to greatly improve my CV, enhancing my ability to obtain similar opportunities in the future. There was little time to train me to being able to complete tasks which require practice/ in depth knowledge however. I will have to try and come back for longer next time.
I was given a clear understanding of the full time role of a graduate in my team. I now understand the tasks they complete on a daily basis. We were given an insight into what other graduates do in other areas of the company through several presentations but this isn't the same as working alongside graduates in different teams and seeing exactly what they get up too.
Alot of insight- through attending several meetings as well as just listening in on conversations around the office, Savills culture is now very clear to me from my time here.
Very valuable, I now understand what investment entails and the type of work I would be doing in this position. I think I would need to widen by experiences in other areas of commercial property to get a full understanding of what I would want to do further down the line. More work experience and hopefully being able to join Savills graduate scheme where I can rotate around the company would help with this even further.
Everything Else
More opportunities then I thought considering the corona virus pandemic. I was lucky enough to have a really nice conversation with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] the Group Chief executive officer as well as a few other people across the company. Most interactions were with my team but that was to be expected.
There were non due to corona virus which was a big shame but couldn't be helped.
I did not.
Yes, especially if you want a career in property, very insightful, lovely employees- great experience to put on your CV. I was very lucky to have the opportunity.
