The Role
I enjoyed my placement so much that I actually extended my contract until I went back to university.
Everyone in the team is so friendly and welcoming! You really are treated like a member of the team and not a placement student.
Support and guidance was outstanding at Nestle, whether it be from your own team or not. Everyone at Nestle makes time to help you.
I was typically very busy on placement, especially the longer I was there because I was able to pick up more work and responsibilities. When there was a small quiet period and typically find something to do or catch up on other work.
Since they treat you like part of the team and not a placement student, I'd say they give you a lot of responsibility which I was really surprised with at first!
I have developed so many different skill this year that I didn't expect to and equally there was a lot of resources for training within my area but also to learn about other departments too. My placement year has been an invauable experience that will definitely help me with my final year.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is so friendly and relaxed!
The placement was very organised because Nestle have their Academy for all interns, placements and grads and I found that my responsibilities on placement were very clear.
There are so many training courses you can get involved in because they care so much about your personal development, which I definitely took advantage of.

Many students who start on placement do actually stay on after graduation in many different departments. I'd love to return to Nestle!
The Culture
Before Covid, there were a lot of department organised events but equally I went go-karting and to the races with the placements too.
I commuted to York so I didn't have any living expenses.
The nightlife was good, my team and the department went out on many occassions.
