The Role
It exceeded my expectations, the people and the opportunities were amazing!
I felt very valued by my colleagues and felt like an important part of the team within my own project group as well as the wider company
My managers and technical leads were always on hand to help with any issues I had, and they always ensured that I knew what tasks were my responsibility and that I wasn’t left in the dark about anything I needed to know
Most days were busy which was good, but there was also days were the atmosphere was more relaxed, which was very useful to regather your thoughts, organise your work a bit more before the next rush of work
I was given more responsibility than I ever expected. I was made responsible for designing parts, assembling components as well as communicating with the wider GE team in America which was an invaluable experience. I was also trusted to travel with different projects and represent my work and the company!
I learnt so much in my time at GE Aviation, and the knowledge and experience gathered will undoubtedly help climb that extra step in my degree program, as well as my career
The Company
The atmosphere in my work place was always good, everyone was friendly and chatty and we also socialised outside of work which made work more enjoyable
The only reason it wasn’t seamless was because of the unpredictable nature of our work, which just made life more exciting and every day had a little bit of unknown about it, meaning we were always kept motivated by new tasks and developing situations
The company provided me with lots of hands on and virtual training in many different elements of engineering and business. The skills i developed working with GE Aviation are life lasting and invaluable

A company like GE Aviation is huge and an honour to work for
The Culture
I mingled well with the other placement students, as well as the rest my colleagues which enhanced my experience
Not as expensive as London, but not quite cheap as chips, very affordable though based in the wage I was on with GE! (bristol)
There was always a cool bar or club to go to at the weekends with friends
The work Colleagues regularly organised events such as football, tennis, go karting and bar crawls
