Digital Technology Intern Review

I enjoyed the placement because i was able to liaise with different teams around the world. Furthermore, I was entrusted to deliver projects and I was given huge responsibilities. The job was awesome and my colleagues were fantastic, however, the location was not my favourite one. from a night-life perspective, there wasn't much to do in Cheltenham and I did not experience many group activities. Overall it was a positive experience that I helped me to develop my skills.

My manager trusted me since the beginning and I delivered many projects. Unfortunately, I didn't get exposure to hot topics and critical projects. Nevertheless, I feel that my colleagues positively perceived my presence. I established positive relationships. I always helped my colleagues when projects required heavy workloads. I fell they positively valued my set of skills and tried to get me involved in as many projects and taks as possible. I enjoyed working with them.

I received a lot of guidance and support from my manager. I always set some time to speak to him about my personal progress and project progress. he was very useful for my personal growth. I learnt a lot from him and I was always able to speak freely to him. I established a positive relationship with him. overall, I believe that it helped us to work better together and to deliver good quality work.

I wasn't always busy during my internship, however, I was given important projects. my internship was more focused on delivering quality work. Depending on the timeline of the project, I had busy and not so busy periods. I always had tasks to do and meeting to attend during the day. The good part about the internship was that I could organise my time and decide what tasks/projects I wanted to prioritise. Overall I liked how busy I was.

I was given many responsabilities as I worked on different roles . I delivered project as software developer, web developer, data analyst etc. My manager trusted me and allowed me to improve my skills in all the skills I learnt during my university time. My time at GE allowed me to improve my organisational skills but also to understand what job roles I like. being entrusted was useful to learn how to manage projects and teams.

i didnt receive any technical training, therefore, all the skills that I learnt were done by me. I learnt different hard skills required to produce tasks and/or projects. The projects I delivered are very correlated to my degree and to what i am studying. Unfortunately, I had to do everything by myself also because my collegues where very busy with their day to day tasks. I liked the fact they assigned me tasks related to my degree, even though I didnt receive much support.

The atmosphere in the office was awesome. Even though they were extremely busy most of the time they always kept high the spirits. it was a nice environment to work in as it allowed me to express my abilities in a relaxed environment. Ultimately it helped to have better team collaborations and better human interactions. It was the aspect I enjoyed the most during my year working for General Electric Aviation. Overall I can say I worked in a company with a good company culture.

in terms of social activities, I believe that there was not much structure and organisation. I didn't enjoy the social life in cheltenham, however, from a working perspective, the placement was very organised. I Had the fortune to work on many projects and deliver tangible changes. Overall, the placement was well prepared, I had many intern days throughout the year, and I participated in many department activities. the only thing I would have improved was social activities outside of working hours.

GE Aviation is a very good organisation to start and establish a career because of the many role openings. Also, the Graduate schemes offered by GE are the best in. the world. the job roles especially offered to junior employees and graduates are competitive and appealing. I am definitely going to apply to a GE graduate scheme because I believe it is one of the best in the world in terms of personal and career growth

the nightlife in the area I worked was not the best because there wasn't much to do. the majority of the fellow intern students travelled back home on weekends, therefore, I didn't experience many night outs in Cheltenham. I Always ended up spending my weekends in London. This is probably the aspect I didn't enjoy at all about Cheltenham. I wish GE Aviation organised more "get to know each other ' events from day one.
