The Role
Working for a SME gave me a great opportunity to work with many of the teams throughout my placement year. I thoroughly enjoyed my year, MMT are a fantastic company to work for!
My colleagues were always willing to help when we were settling in and made us feel at home right away. From day one we were welcomed in with open arms.
Throughout my entire placement I was always given support from not only my managers but all of the employees. This continued even out of office with career advice and university help.
When beginning my placement, I had a lot of free time. However, this was recognised and my responsibilities were increased and I was given the opportunity to work with multiple teams.
I was given some responsibility, I managed my own client, whilst helping oversee around 15 more, holding my own meetings etc. MMT does not treat their placement students like students instead of valued members of the team, you are treated equally.
I will be taking a lot from my placement back into my final year of university as the skills I acquired throughout the year have already benefited me in work I am completing and modules I am studying. The training i received will give me a good advantage on a lot of other students in the upcoming year.
The Company
The office was never a dull place. People are lunch and socialised together, even after work frequently throughout the week. I always looked forward to going into the office on a Monday!
It was not completely seamless when I arrived, there was some debate as to what my actual role would be. I did not have the role that was advertised to me. However, the role I did have was much better for me and I enjoyed and gained much more experience from it. (It was a very good thing)
My two main managers both set me targets and frequently checked in on my progress in completing them throughout the year. I completed an agile course during the year also, I believe we were quite invested in!

I would definitely return to MMT. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working for them, the culture was unbeatable. It’s a great place to grow as an employee (especially a placement student).
The Culture
There was a great social scene! We would spend a lot of time socialising outside of work during the week. MMT also kept up a good social scene during the pandemic with online events
It was Soho, so it would be London prices.
Soho had a great nightlife! Lots of pubs, bars and everything else you could want. Being in central London you have access to anything!
