About You
I thoroughly enjoyed this insight programme at Savills. It was a great working environment to be in, and with very friendly people, who kept me busy with interesting and varied work. The work was also well varied, attending conference calls, meetings, site visits and inspections.
I felt very valued at Savills, as they often gave me work to do which enabled me to gain a detailed insight into the department. The work I was asked to complete also was used for new leases and advises clients on alterations.
I received quite a lot of support at the firm, and was told to ask any questions I might have, regardless of how obvious they may have been. This enabled me to work with confidence, knowing I had the sup-port and guidance of my collegues if I had any questions.
As I have not experienced a work placement in my department before. and therefore gave me a real insight into the work that they undertake on behalf of their clients. Furthermore, I was able to use this knowledge and skills gained throughout the week on site inspections.
The Company
There was a good amount of structure throughout the week, however there was no particular schedule which I had to follow. As a result, I had more flexibility throughout the week which allowed to carry out different forms of work and site inspections.
The office, despite COVID, had a good atmosphere, and I was encouraged to ask questions, within the bounds of social distancing.
They were very encouraging, although didn't focus on personal training, I developed my skills and understanding of the real estate sector as a whole.
It was a great insight into the department I was working in, as I often shadowed their work and attended meetings.
It made me appreciate and understand more the values which Savills uphold, which is great to see and how Savills put their values and culture into practice within an office.
It was an extremely valuable insight into my department and role it plays within the firm. It also gave me the opportunity to experience what I enjoyed and found interesting and engaging within property which would not have been possible without the internship.
Everything Else
Due to Covid, there are not much opportunity to network with other employees, outside of the department.
There was opportunity to network and meet people around the office, however due to COVID this was restricted to some degree.
Yes.
I would highly recommend this to a friend who is considering looking for a career in property, as it has given me a great insight into what my department does.
