The Role
A placement year at L'Oreal is a challenging yet rewarding experience. You will be given an immense amount of responsibility from day one, whilst working not only with a great team, but with every member of your division. I would recommend this placement for anyone interested in consumer products and wanting to gain an insight into business.
I was extremely welcome by my colleagues and found it a very rewarding part of the placement.
My team and manager were amazing and I am still in contact with them after leaving my placement.
The working environment at L'Oreal is extremely dynamic and therefore fluctuates from day to day in terms of how busy you are. Some days are very busy whilst some are more relaxed.
I received a large amount of responsibility on my placement. The responsibility given to you will reflect your work ethic.
I gained a good commercial awareness and business understanding specifically in consumer goods and with retailers. These skills have been transferable onto my course and will majorly benefit me in future career choices.
The Company
Loved it!
You are placed in a small team with a great manager who will likely have been an intern before. Therefore, they will guide you and provide great advice.
L'Oreal has a large number of external opportunities for training, including virtual courses which would usually have to be paid for - these are free as a L'Oreal employee. There are also numerous skill development sessions.

Good!
The Culture
Cut short with covid! But some divisions are very social enabling you to mix with everyone. L'Oreal also has a large intern cohort which provides another community for you to mix with.
