The Role
I absolutely loved the year, the people that I worked with were all lovely and wanted to make sure that I learnt as much as possible in my time there. I was given far more responsibility than I ever imagined, and was supported every step of the way. There is also a massive intern/apprentice/grad community so plenty of opportunities so socialise and get involved with events!
Due to there being so many interns at L'Oreal and it rotates every year, all of the people working there want you to get involved and know how the process works. There are plenty of team events. On my internship due to the movement of teams around I within the year there wasn't long with the full team but I got to know some of my colleagues really well!
There is a really supportive environment at L'Oreal. Due to your responsibility they want you to be able to manage it well yourself with only guidance where necessary (and this is where your development comes in).
Within my team there was a play hard work hard environment. At the beginning my team made sure I left on time, however this soon disappeared (Understandably with the workload). However there are plenty of events and the supportive environment makes up for it!
You will be given more responsibility than you can imagine. Its great because you will be given projects and tasks that you manage completely yourself. This means that you can learn far more than you normally would!
The Skills I learnt are invaluable - There are loads of trainings that you can sign up for which are taught by the most amazing people. However its the on the job learning that is more valuable and I will be taking forward into my degree and beyond most!
The Company
Really nice atmosphere - you can easily chat to whoever you need and there is always something going on!
The organisation was perfect - As there is an intern cohort each year the whole company is geared up to make sure that you get the most out of your experience
There are plenty of trainings that you can do as well as the training your manager and team will deliver to you.
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The graduate scheme there is really well set up to give you a full flavour of the business and turn you into a future leader!
The Culture
As there are so many interns there are plenty of people to get to know and organise things with. There is also an intern committee who organise events!
London is expensive as you would expect however there are always bar tabs running with team events!
Plenty of venues in London
Yes plenty of opportunities outside of work too
