    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Loved it - was a steep learning curve at first but the Dublin team were very helpful.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Very much so , they frequently thanked me for my work.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • It was more the graduates / lower levels that would give support. That is more to do with me spending more time with them than the higher managers etc. They would be helpful if asked.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very much depended on the time of year - the quarterly rush I was very busy. During this time I had gaps of having nothing to do as I waited for others to check my work before it could be emailed out.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A lot , but then not that much when you take into account the fact that everything went through 2 layers of checking

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It has lead me to not do the actuarial exams, and to do the CFAs instead which is great
