The Role
Getting to see a variety of areas throughout the company over the year was great!
All departments at Lidl are extremely welcoming and instantly make sure you feel part of the team. I always felt valued and that my work was having a real impact on the team.
The support from my manager throughout the year was amazing! They would always ensure I was in the area that best suited me and would always try to seek new and exciting opportunities for myself to take part in, particularly through the uncertain times during the pandemic! They made sure I got the best I possibly could out of my year at Lidl!
No day is the same at Lidl, and everyday is always a busy day! There is never an opportunity to sit around and do nothing, particularly when based within stores.
In any department I worked in during my time at Lidl I always had huge amounts of responsibility. For example, working on real-life projects for Head Office to becoming a Shift Manager within stores.
The skills I have developed from my time at Lidl will assist me not only in my degree studies but also throughout my life. I have had the opportunity to develop many skills including my time-management, communication and self-reliance.
The Company
The placement scheme was very well organised, and from the moment I started my journey at Lidl there was a timeline for my whole year at Lidl. I had continuous support throughout the year, and felt if I wasn’t happy with an area there was always support available.
I received huge amounts of training from start to finish from my time at Lidl, the company invested in the placement students so much. I took part in a wide variety of training day’s, from recruiting to Mental Health awareness!
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would be extremely interested in a future job opportunity working for Lidl.
The Culture
When beginning the placement scheme and part way in we were all invited to an overnight event which enabled all the placement students from across the country to meet and get to know each other. Unfortunately due to the unfortunate circumstances of COVID-19 we could not have our final meet up at the end of the placement scheme.
