About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight week and learnt a lot from Fitch Learning building upon my knowledge of the investment banking industry. I enjoyed the Q&A panels with J.P. Morgan employees the most hearing about their personal experience with the firm and the role they do.
I felt extremely valued at the firm because although the Spring Week ended up being virtual due to Covid-19, the sessions and Q&A panels was not solely confined to the week. Follow up sessions with employees were given in the weeks following the Spring Week demonstrating J.P. Morgan's effort to provide Spring Weeks candidates as much information as possible.
There was a lot of guidance throughout the Spring Week with employees from human resources continuously emailing each day to provide us with information on how each day will run and how we can access each event. J.P. Morgan and Fitch Learning also provided links to the panels and learning sessions which I found useful to be able to go back and take notes on.
I developed skills especially relevant now and throughout the rest of year foreseeable future in communicating and bulling connections with peers my own age also on the Spring Week and with J.P. Morgan employees. I was able to contribute to sessions and ask questions on panels through interactive panels which assists me in my degree which for the next year will be online. Tips were given from employees that I found extremely useful to use in my interviews and refer to.
The Company
The insight was very well structured with a schedule emailed to me a month advance on how the Spring Week is due to take place which I was extremely looking forward to. Due to coronavirus the in person event was cancelled but J.P. Morgan did not fail to disappoint as they conducted it virtually. It wasweld structured again with emails from Human Resources about the schedule for the week and concluding each day as well as links each evening for the next days virtual events.
The atmosphere was very positive with extreme entusiasim demonstrated from J.P. Morgan employees who all seemed honoured to be able to attend the virtual sessions and provide us with insight. They were all extremely helpful in providing tips on how to succeed in my career.
The company invested in me as since I was a Spring Week candidate, when applying for Summer Internships they allowed two weeks for my application to be fast tracked. They also continuously asked for feedback and scheduled a call later on in the month to ask about my thoughts about the week, to get to know me and my plans for my future with J.P. Morgan.
The Q&A panels and sessions with employees referring to personal experiences directly gave me an clear insight as to what it would be like to have a full time role with the company.
From the first day a session was delivered on understanding the company. Employees consistently referred to the company's culture and values.
Very valuable - before the Spring Week I was uncertain as to what division within Investment Banking I wanted to go into. After learning more about what each division does from Fitch Learning and employees I was able to decide.
Everything Else
Virtual event due to coronavirus so was no need for reimbursement.
The opportunities to networking were good including a Linkedin Chat with other peers on the Spring week. Employees also continuously encouraged adding them on LinkedIn to stay connected, which I did.
The schedule for the Spring Week before Coronavirus looked exciting with a number of drinks, dinners and lunches planned. Unfortunately due to coronavirus these could not take place.
Yes employees on Q&A sessions mentioned about football matches and charity work they were involved in within the company.
Definitely.
