The Role
The job was amazing - the company and teams did a really good job adapting to remote work and engaging us with interesting training and also work.
Colleagues were great and gave really helpful advice and feedback. The entire team would be willing to chat from Analyst to MD. They also let me send work on to seniors which I really appreciated.
My manager was great and talked to me really often (typically twice per week). He early on told me the expectations which was helpful and helped integrate me to the team which was great. He also gave me super interesting work and explained the purpose. I could recommended him enough!
I was typically super busy as I was working on a number of different projects with different people and also had my intern project to work on. I liked this though as it gave me more exposure to the types of work my team did and allowed me to meet a broader range of people.
I was given lots of responsibly bu being put on a live team and also contributed to other BAU work yet never get overwhelmed as I could always ask for help if needed. I think they struck a great balance here.
I started my internship right after I’d graduated so they didn’t help much with university studies but I can see that they would have had I taken accounting / finance modules during university. The skills though are super useful going forward and will stand me in good stead when I start next year.
The Company
I wasn’t in the office so I couldn’t say but they had a 24/7 zoom room for the interns which had a great atmosphere and really ensured we bonded and became friends in spite of the virtual nature.
The internship was really well organised and HR and the teams did a great job of keeping us informed about the changes to the program, the events we should attend and the expectations.
The company invested a lot in training and I really appreciated that. We were given access to training materials before the internship started which was really helpful for me as I came from a non financial background. We then had a week of dedicated training which was great and the trainer was amazing. We then had ongoing training with juniors running sessions on certain topics to help understand the concepts and practically apply them.

Employment prospects are amazing and the internal promotion structure is super clear which is helpful.
The Culture
Yes the social scene was great as we had our intern zoom room and also organised socials ourselves too. My team was good at having socials both before the internship started which was great and also we had coffees and drinks after the internship was great as I got to meet them in person.
I was living in London so it was expensive but I could have lived anywhere given this year was remote.
There was no nightlife this year due to COVID19.
Limited activities outside work due to COVID but I have heard there are typically a lot more.
